What are MKimonos?
MKimonos are elite Jiu-Jitsu gi's. Please see the History and Brands sections for more detail.
Who designs MKimonos products?
Luciana Machado Simon designs all of the company’s products. She utilizes her lifetime in Brazilan Jiu-Jitsu to provide you with the highest quality products. She also ensures that all MKimonos meet the IBJJF/CBJJ requirements, as dictated by President Carlos Gracie, Jr.
Do you sell the patches of the various Brazilian Academies?
No. These team patches are only available to members of a particular school. We do have a selection of MKimonos and Lutador Americano patches for sale on the site.

Most orders will be shipped from Springfield, PA. Bulk or special orders may be shipped from Brazil. Unless otherwise noted, the item will be shipped from Springfield, Pennsylvania.

What is your Return Policy?
Unwashed, unworn items can be returned for refund or exchange. If the item has been washed or worn, it cannot be returned. Fabric Answers
What is Gold Weave fabric?
Gold Weave fabric was intitially required by the Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Confederation in order to standardize gi's for competitions. Eventhough it is not required anymore, it has become an industry standard. It is a very resistant fabric, but still light and comfortable.
What is a Hybrid Weave?
The Hybrid Weave was developed by Marcelo Machado. The fabric is lighter than a Double Weave, but stronger than a conventional Single Weave. It affords maximum strength without being overly heavy. It is similar in weight to a Gold Weave.
What is Single Weave?
The Single Weave is what we call in Brazil, the light weave. It is a lighter version of the Double and Hybrid weaves. While it is lighter and more comfortable than heavy weaves, it is also less durable.
What is Summer Weave?
MKimonos was the first company to produce Summer Weave Jiu-Jitsu gi's. The Summer Weave is made with a non-twisted fabric, different than the other weaves (more similar to pants material). Because of that, it is extremely light, but still has strength to it. Summer Weave Gi’s are for training on the hottest days.
What is Double Weave?
The Double Weave is the strongest and most durable gi that we offer. It is heavy and can be hot to train in, however some competitors prefer if for competitions due it being difficult for your opponent to grab and manipulate.
What is Palladium Weave?
The Palladium Weave is an MKimonos exclusive and brand new for 2011. It maintains the texture and comfortability of Gold Weave while providing the strength and durability of a Double Weave. It is heavy and can be hot to train in, however some competitors prefer if for competitions due it being difficult for your opponent to grab and manipulate.
Care Answers
How much do your gi's shrink?
The gi's can shrink up to 2 inches during their first washing. After that, the size will remain consistent.
How do I care for my gi?
Wash your gi in cold water and let it air dry. This is the best way to prevent unwanted shrinkage and maintain strength in the fabric. Putting your gi in the dryer can cause excessive wear and damage your gi.
How do I care for my rashguard or shorts?
Wash your rashguards and shorts in cold water. Use a mild detergent. Then let them air dry.
